Hummingbird

This hummer flew into the window on a Sun. morning. As far as we know it survived. It wasn't on D.J.'s 'nest' when we got back from church.

Painty The Turtle

Ginny and Lanita found a Painted Turtle in the yard. So we had a turtle for a pet for a week or two. We fed him worms. At first they put him in a rather small vase. Later they found a box and put a plate in it for him to swim in. Only he couldn't swim in it cause it wasn't deep enough. They also put some grass in it for him to hide in. He liked that.

 His box home.

He liked to crawl up on his grass and push it over.

We let him go sometime around June 3. He didn't like a life of captivity. He learned how to get out of the box. So he would crawl out of the box, over to the edge of the game cupboard and drop off (approx. 3 feet) and head for the door. There he would sit and wait for someone to open the door so that he could go outside. And as for turtles being slow... Well, lets just say that that doesn't work for that turtle. He could crawl pretty fast.

When D.J. Got The Tractor Stuck

He wanted to use it to pull a tree out of the mud hole. He said that it was dried up. He only sank this far with his boots. (An inch or so) Somehow he obtained permission to use the tractor. And found out that tractors sink deeper than boots. It took Kyle an hour to get it out.

He was awfully proud of himself... Till Kyle made him pressure-wash the tractor.

The tree he though that he had to use the tractor to pull out. BTW that hatchet blade is about 3-4 inches.

Hmmm... I guess he didn't need the tractor after all...
