Winter projects at our house are rather different than they have bee for the last couple of years. Instead of sheetrock and mud and paint there is a table full of album MESS. And instead of carrying jugs of water and thermoses of coffee out to the house we have kettles of waisil simmering IN the house. And instead of almost solid shop class (SSHHH) for schooling we have Bible and Math and Literature and Language Arts. I much prefer the schoolbooks to the itchy, sneeze making sheetrock dust. Just thinking about the horrible stuff makes me itchy. :( But thankfully, that is behind us. Now we can sit and enjoy the
long winter.
A last winter's scene. This winter hasn't given many good ones yet. Or if it has I haven't seen them.
Right now we seem to be having the January thaw. :( We don't even have enough snow to last us through the predicted rain on Thursday - Friday night. To anyone wanting to brave the sledding hill: it's NASTY. You can hardly keep your sled on the trail where you normally would hardly be able to get it off the trail. We have two new sleds and those are REALLY bad. They go like the wind though. Going down the picnic hill you get clear to the garden. But those will get scratched up and quit going so well. :( The green sleds are brittle from a couple summers' worth of sun and heat and are getting broken up. And those sleds aren't cheap. So, one by one, ( or two by two) we will rebuild up our supply of sleds.
This is what Ginny's eyes look like right now:
There is a HORRIBLE cold going around at our house. The poor kids are up at night coughing up phlegm/puking which wakes up Mom. So we are all kinda tired right now. Hopefully we are getting better instead of worser now...
We didn't know you had a blog!!!! So nice to see this, and (most of) the pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou guys live in a totally different world from us, but we still miss that one. Even the snow.
God bless you all!
